Vaccine-related enlarged lymph nodes in no way indicates cancer “If you have any concerning lumps or other symptoms concerning for breast cancer, please contact your doctor immediately and do not wait the four- to six-week period,” he said. And, unfortunately, a mammogram cannot easily tell the difference between the two causes of swelling.”Įide said The Society of Breast Imaging is recommending either getting your mammogram before the vaccine or waiting for 4-6 weeks after your last dose for routine screening mammograms. Where this is problematic for mammograms is that breast cancer can also cause swelling of the lymph nodes. Some people experience very noticeable changes they can feel, and others have more subtle changes. This causes increased cellular production and swollen nodes. “After the vaccine, many areas of the body (but particularly lymph nodes) go into action to develop your response to the coronavirus. Wishing you good luck and pls keep me updated.“Your lymph nodes are central to the body’s immune response,” said Eide. But this is just worth a try no doctor said it will be gone 100% after this. Will have the result by end of next week and might take antibiotics then. I’m waiting also for the result of a test if there’s still bacteria in my throat. I am horrified and worried but try to keep calm as all doctors said it’s to be monitored and not to be worried by now as it could be from the vaccine, from the sickness or even both. They didn’t seem to get smaller, rather the opposite from what I feel. Could also be that it’s not one big but two that stick together he said. But he was absolutely unconcerned (it’s 12 weeks now that is 3 months!!!!) because they look reactive. Nevertheless on Monday I got another ultrasound and that new doctor found them to be 2.4cm on my left side and I was horrified. Round would be suspicious and oval looks like a reaction to something that’s what all doctors said. All came back normal/they are up to 1.2cm in size but oval, not round. I got ultrasounds, an mri and blood tests already. Rather bc my immune system might have been too busy with the vaccine so i could get sick. That swelling came together with throat pain and sickness for 3 weeks which I don’t think is caused by the vaccine. They started swelling on both sides of my neck under the jaw since a week after the First shot. Hey! I got my first shot end of April and the second one beginning of June. I tried to call my doctor to see if that’s the typical recommendation for enlarged lymph nodes or if she was concerned, but the person on the phone wouldn’t put me through….sigh. My doctor’s recommendation was to see an ENT for monitoring and potentially Biopsy if they get larger or if there’s change. The reading said they looked uniform in shape and that they looked healthy outside of the size. Thank you!Įdit for update: I got an ultrasound done yesterday (8/9) and the reading showed two enlarged lymph nodes in my neck, biggest one measuring about 2.1 cm. I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced lingering swollen lymph nodes after the vaccine? I’ve seen it’s normal for a period of time, but I haven’t met anyone who’s had them this long. She suggested an ultrasound if they continued to stay swollen. I ended up seeing my doctor at the end of June and she said they felt okay, and ordered blood work that came back totally normal. I am still experiencing some swelling in that area, not nearly as bad but still noticeable, even though it’s been months. After the first dose, the lymph nodes in my neck on the side of injection got pretty swollen, started to go down right before my second dose, and then swelled up a ton right after my second dose again. Hi everyone, I (26F) got my first dose at the end of March, and the second at the end of April.
